About

My Great grandmother, Emma Nathaniel, gave me a painting for my 8th birthday. It was both the most grown up gift I'd ever been given and, I felt like I had to be an artist. Like, all my creative ways made sense because my great grandmother was a painter. How could I be anything other an artist? Also, I found out later she was a huge fan of the sopranos and i don't know why but that tickles me so much.

My grandmother, Gloria Thompson put pretty barrettes in my hair and laughed at all my jokes. We'd stay on the phone, me, making her laugh and her pretending she wanted me to stop. She taught me to fry plantain in her kitchen and would slip me an extra cornmeal dumpling or johnny cake when no one else was looking.

My parents are nerds. Bonding over Galaga and Star Trek in church pews. Debating hardware and hard drives. We got caught on the news in '02 going to Baltimore's free symphony day. So, while I don't know a word of klingon, I can say the lord's prayer in Latin. And making me do it over the phone is my uncle's favorite party trick.

This is the only way I know how to tell you about me. Sentimental, well(ish) read and totally prone to mischief. I too am a collage

Talent x Opportunity Brand Identity

I built a16z's Talent x Opportunity’s (TxO) sub-brand from the ground up. As lead creative, I focused on developing an expressive and dynamic brand that spoke to non-traditional or “out-of-network” entrepreneurs. This bold, expressive and dynamic system allowed us to remind founders from every background and tradition: “You belong here.” The final product was a cohesive identity that functioned seamlessly across web, social, video, live events, and its own sub-brand.
